Hello Friends & Fellow Bloggers @ rediffiland.com,
Thanks for visiting my iland page and leaving your gracious comments. I am overwhelmed. I was not expecting this anytime soon. Without wasting anymore time I shall let you all read the next collection of my observations, interactions and one of my friend"s opinion about my "star" neighbour.
It has been a month now since my last post. Work and travel kept me busy and I couldn"t motivate myself to post something half-baked that"s why the delay.
My neighbour as you know happens to be an actress from the film industry and she arrived back last month and as I was away traveling I missed the opportunity to catch up with her.
In the first week of August I returned to my rented apartment in Mumbai from a ten-day north India tour and it was a nice mix of business and fun. It was late evening when I arrived and picked up my mails from my mail box and was waiting for the elevator to arrive. Another neighbour of mine who works with a leading brokerage came in and we chatted. Back upstairs I unpacked my bags and relaxed. As it was late I ordered a pizza for dinner and put off the lights.
The other day was a weekday and my usual routine began and as ever the morning was rushed. Returning home in the evening I saw her smiling and posing from different corners of the entire city. I thought about her for a moment and then my thoughts were immersed in my pending work.
Back home when I arrived I did see a string of visitors coming out of her home. As I was carrying loads of baggage from work I wanted a quick shower and a cuppa coffee. That evening one of my friends from Pune came visiting and when he arrived he was thrilled to see the name plate displayed on my neighbour"s wall. It"s a very classic design with a backlit framed glass. It does attract attention but in a nice way, subtle way.
He started enquiring about my neighbours if it was "her" place and did she stay here. If I had ever met her and spoken to her for real? How was she without make-up and did she have that attitude she displayed onscreen in a few movies or it was all fake. Was she really HOT? Hahahaa...
Over drinks and dinner and after a while at Barista, he couldn"t believe I was staying next door to an actress and went on whining about how in Pune the only neighbours he was surrounded by were retired old people. I told him that I had also blogged about my experience as a neighbour and he was amused. He was in awe of her I could easily say; as I was when I didn"t know her.
But now I thought I was on a different plain as I knew her a little bit and at least she knew my name. I was expecting to see her sometimes to explore what my friend had asked me. If she is HOT or NOT?
Few days passed and there was no sign of her. As most of the working hours I was busy toiling at office and when I returned never got lucky to see her. On that weekend I had returned early from work and as I was about to enter my key in the door I heard her coming out. I turned to see and she was with her Mom. I said hello to Aunty and her. They reciprocated with a smile. That"s it. I came into my home and they went downstairs.
One look at her and I was wondering if she could be called Hot or Not. I kept thinking about her appearance that evening and some memories shot back from that meeting we had at her place. All was confusing as her on screen persona was overshadowing the little I know of her as a real person. I put it to rest and went on with my chores.
The next morning was Sunday and as my maid rang the bell I opened the door to let her in and she was telling me about how my neighbours had had an emergency a few days ago while I wasn"t around. The actress had been shooting for a film in some studio which is located on the outskirts of the city where she had a little mishap with her car and how her Mom back home wanted to reach there but there was no one to drive her to the destination urgently. She had the car but the driver was unavailable. It was late night and she was checking if any neighbour was up at that hour who could drive her there. Finally a gentleman neighbour who lives on the upper floors was courteous enough to step in the need of the hour and all was fine.
I was wondering how easy it would have been for me to get to know her mother too if I was to drive her for an hour to the studios that night.
In the afternoon the society had called a meeting for parking issues as the Traffic Police persons were going to come and sort out a few issues, so all the residents were asked to be present. I went there as fortunately I also have a vehicle. My next-door neighbour has three cars so it was sure that someone from her house was also going to represent them. As we all had gathered in the open space and took our seats the gorgeous girl arrived herself with her man-Friday.
She was surrounded by a few kids as they were playing around. She mingled with them and even hugged one of the cutie-pies of our society, Aarti. This cutie-pie is a five year old girl whose Mom and Dad are my friends as they happen to be of my age. We get along well and they have played gracious hosts to me on numerous occasions since I had been in Mumbai. They are a great couple and also very good looking one, a handsome guy and a pretty lady. Their sweetheart of an Angel - Aarti is also a showstopper and smart kid. I love to play games especially scrabble with her whenever I visit them.
My star neighbour surely liked her as she hugged her and kissed her. Many of my society people were seen giggling and smiling at this instance. Her appearance today was in a dark blue denims and a flowery printed full-sleeves shirt with a very attractive brown suede slip-ons. As I had been thinking of the hotness quotient so unconsciously I was checking her out. She went and took a seat in the front row as the society"s chairman showed her the way. The meeting went on for about an hour and later we all dispersed to our respective homes.
I was in the lift with her and I said a hello to her and asked her if all was going fine and that started our small talk. She said all was fine and asked me the same. I enquired about her work and what she was currently working on and she very obligingly told me about a few projects. We exited from the elevator and to our apartment floor and she invited me to come visit her on the sets if I was so curious to see her working. I could see a spark in her eyes while she spoke.
I thanked her and we went into our respective houses. I kept thinking about her for a while and as my friend had asked me and I was still unsure whether her appearance on screen was very different from her off screen. Her eyes shine bright, flawless skin, gorgeous glowing hair, nice sharp nose and a very attractive chin (yeah I had flipped for her classy chin when I saw her first film) and a wonderful mouth. Her height was quite fine and her figure was awesome. So I was wondering how I have not categorized her appearance until now. Was I confusing myself with a lot of her screen imagery with the few small contact I have had in real life? Guess I was.
It"s very easy to say if anyone is hot or not, when you don"t know the person but when you get to see them interact with them then something else takes precedence.
I felt the same way. I think she is really hot but at the same time she is Gorgeous too. The way she conducts herself is also impeccable and very warm. She speaks softly and has that nuance of classiness which is very attractive. She also comes across as a girl who needs to be protected, need to be attended to and am sure she gets a LOT of it from all quarters.
Well it has just been two weeks since I arrived back and said Hello to her, so I don"t have much to share. But as and when my interactions with my star neighbour carries forward I shall keep you all updated.
Thanks for being so patient with me. And apologies if there are mistakes in my post as I don"t re-read it or edit it. I am simply too lazy for that.
Keep blogging!
Take good care of yourselves, be good and on the occasion of Pateti ~ Saal Mubarak to all my Parsi friends here!
